Do What You Love

I believe all people should do what they love. I love creating art, which is why I chose to follow my dream of pursuing a job in art education. I have always loved art my entire life. When I was growing up, I always wanted to become a teacher. I was influenced by great teachers who truly made a difference in their students’ lives. I too wanted to become a teacher who understood my students’ needs and made learning fun.

Art surrounds us in our everyday lives. I love that art is so powerful. It has the power to portray a visual message that can be interpreted by others in many different ways. It also produces so much emotion. It can make us react or feel a certain way. It can also be life changing and very meaningful.

In my freshman year of college, my love for art resurfaced when I fell in love with art history. Through the years, I have also enjoyed many studio classes which have taught me to work in a wide variety of mediums. I especially enjoy painting and creating three-dimensional artwork.  I see my own personal style developing through time.  Many of my works have bright, vibrant colors and are influenced by Abstract Expressionism.

I challenge others to question yourself if you truly love what you do. If not, find out what makes you happy, and find a way to make your dream turn into reality. When you do what you love, you will never work a day in your life.
